Asking God To Fight For You

#5--Steps to Peace

Psalms, Proverbs                                             Psalm 35

I prayed about where to start with this new journey we are going to take.

I take this so very seriously.

I know that God can help you.

It is His job to restore and renew.

So I just want to lead you where He knows you should go.

God is so amazing and so undescribable.

He loves us so much and He truly is all powerful.

Before we start, I want to assure you that God promises over and over in the Bible that He will never forsake or abandon his children.

No matter what we do or say, no matter if we are angry at God, He will not abandon us.

God abandons those that have turned totally away from Him.  Only God knows those that are so hardened that they will never turn to Jesus.

The fact that you are reading this is proof that you have not come to that place in your life.

My husband was in prison ministry for years and men that had committed the most vicious of crimes still came to Jesus and were saved.

God is most patient with us, He hasn’t abandoned you; He wants you, his daughter to be healed, to have joy and to have peace.

I want to pray Psalm 35 for you. I like to use the New Living Translation, it is just so easy to understand.

David wrote many of the Psalms, he was a mighty warrior and fought most of his life.  However, our fight today, as told in Ephesians 6, is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers in the heavens.  So where David's enemies were flesh and blood, we are called throughout the New Testament to fight in the spiritual realm.

I am going to try and use specific Bible verses as much as possible, this way we know we are in God's will.

One of the requirements for answered prayer is praying God’s will; the promises in the Bible are always God’s will.

Please replace your name wherever you see (NAME)

O Lord, thank you for your love for [NAME].
I thank you for the work You are doing in [NAME]'s life.
You know the turmoil and torment that she lives with.
Jesus, You promised peace, and we want that promise to be lived out in [NAME]’s life.  Show us Lord; fill Your daughter with peace. (35: 1-10)

O Lord, oppose those who oppose [NAME]. Fight those who fight against [NAME].

Put on Your Armor, and take up Your Shield.  Prepare for battle and come to [NAME]'s aid.

Lift up Your Spear and Javelin against those who pursue [NAME].
Let [NAME] hear you say, "I will give [NAME] victory!"
Bring shame and disgrace on those trying to kill [NAME];
Turn them back and humiliate those who want to harm [NAME].
Blow them away like chaff in the wind--a wind sent by the angel of the Lord.
Make their path dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them.
[NAME] did them no wrong, but they laid a trap for [NAME].

(We cannot hurt the demons, only Jesus can.  If God shows you something here, just repent and ask for forgiveness for anything you did against your human enemies.  After you have asked for forgiveness then these promises can kick in)

[NAME] did them no wrong, but they dug a pit to catch her.  So let sudden ruin come upon them!  Let them be caught in the trap they set for her!

Let them be destroyed in the pit they dug for her.
Then [NAME] will rejoice in the Lord.
[NAME] will be glad because God rescues her.
With every bone in her body, she will praise GOD:  "Lord, who can compare with You?

Who else rescues the helpless from the strong?
Who else protects the helpless and poor from those who rob them?"
(35:17-28)

How long, O Lord, will you look on and do nothing?
Rescue [NAME] from their fierce attacks.  Protect her life from these lions!
Then she will thank You, in front of the great assembly.
[NAME] will praise You before all the people.
Don't let her treacherous enemies rejoice over her defeat.
Don't let those who hate her without cause gloat over her sorrow.
They don't talk of peace; they plot against innocent people who mind their own business.

They shout, "Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we saw her do it!"
O Lord, you know all about this.  Do not stay silent.
Do not abandon [NAME] now, O Lord.

Wake up! Rise to [NAME]’s defense!
Take up [NAME]'s case, for You are [NAME]‘s God and Lord.
Declare [NAME] not guilty, O Lord our God, for You give justice.

Don't let her enemies laugh about her in her troubles.
Don't let them say, "Look we got what we wanted!  Now we will eat her alive!"
May those who rejoice at [NAME]'s troubles be humiliated and disgraced.
May those who triumph over her be covered with shame and dishonor.

But give great joy to those who came to [NAME]'s defense.
Let them continually say, "Great is the Lord, who delights in blessing [NAME],
His servant with peace!"
Then [NAME] will proclaim Your justice, and she will praise You all day long.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

I love you with the love of Jesus,  Judy
