Finding Purpose

#36--Steps to Peace

Psalms, Proverbs                                  Psalm 27:23-24

Below are many of the actual words of comfort that I gave to my friend, Debra, as we talked about the death of her children. It is left in its original form and I pray you will apply this as the Lord shows you how it may fit in your life.

God is giving me more insight into which direction to go in His Word to help you.

I am searching for the key to your freedom. I know as well as you know that you will always miss and grieve for your precious children.  The loss and circumstances of the loss are huge!  We must go step by step and work on each area as the Lord leads.
I felt the Lord leading me to look into an old book on my shelves that is entitled Christian Counseling.  Let me write out a few quotes from it.

"Sometimes, grief is complicated.  It is grief that is intensified, delayed, prolonged, or otherwise deviating from normal grief, resulting in a bondage to the deceased that prevents one from coping adequately with life."

For me, the insight into this quote is the word bondage.  Christ came to set us free, Satan wants us in bondage!  There are several ways to approach bondage, I am praying where to start. Somehow the enemy is encouraging and developing in you an unhealthy bondage which is much more than the original grief.  Bondages sound scary, but because nothing is impossible with Our God, it is a simple task for Him.  We must wait for His direction.

At this moment, we can't really look at God's purpose for your life, because you are so attached to your old purpose.  Still believing your only purpose was living for your children, that you can't see God’s new purpose.  We will just give the Lord some time.  When the bondage is broken, then you will be able to see the new purpose.

Because your precious children were your purpose in life, of course your life now seems without cause.  Many people, most of whom have not been through what you have, struggle with this purpose for their existence. “ Do I count for anything?”, is the heart cry of many.

I know for sure that we were created to glorify God.  We were created to have fellowship with God.  We were created to complete the work that God has given us.  The world makes these purposes out to be next to nothing when in fact they are everything!

Just imagine that God created Debra, because He wanted to have a relationship with you.  He wants to talk with you, comfort you, and just enjoy you.

God delights in his creation.  And He is very delighted with his creation, Debra.

Psalm 37:23-24 says:

The Lord directs the steps of the godly.

He delights in every detail of their lives.

Though they stumble, they will never fall,

for the Lord holds them by the hand.

God is working, never sleeping, to build this relationship.  He is working to draw you to Him.

Can you just imagine that maybe God created you, and allowed this time of your life for the only purpose of enjoying you.

I know that sounds simplistic and unimaginable, but God loves you that much.

If your only purpose is to bring our Heavenly Father joy and delight, isn't that enough?

Just think about that a while.  It will blow your mind.  It does mine.

I am so much like a border collie, so work oriented, that I can't imagine that God just wants to enjoy my company.

He really wants me to be in heaven with Him, because He wants to hang out with me.

MIND BLOWING BUT TRUE!

ENJOY GOD BECAUSE GOD ENJOYS YOU.

HE HATES THE PAIN YOU ARE EXPERIENCING AND WANTS TO FREE YOU FROM THAT TORMENT!

With God’s love,  Judy
