"WORK hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.  Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ.  But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done.  For God has no favorites who can get away with evil." Colossians 3:22-24​

God is generous and wants to bless His people.  He wants our lives to be filled with good things.  The Bible spells out how God’s laws work, what we need to do, and what we can expect.  In life we work.  Isn’t it good to know that God blesses our work when we do it His way?

 

   

WORK WITH THE RIGHT MOTIVES—-God blesses hard work that is done for the right motives.  Because all people are self-centered it is hard, but not impossible, to work with the right motives.  Without Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior it is impossible to defeat this sin of self-centeredness.  1 Peter 2:24 says, “Jesus personally carried away our sins in his own body on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.”  When Christ is our Savior it is possible to work with the right motives.

WORK FOR THE LORD—-We should always be working to please God.  In Galatians 1:10, Paul says that if we are trying to please people we are not God’s servant.  Pleasing or impressing people should never be our goal.  This would include working to please ourselves with our dreams and our agenda.  To be right on with God, our dreams must be God’s will!  James 4:15

WORK HARD—-We are to work hard.  Laziness is a deadly sin that is followed by harsh consequences. Proverbs 24:30-34

​WORK ENTHUSIASTICALLY—-We are to work cheerfully with enthusiasm.  We grieve God when we look at the jobs He has given us as drudgery.  Romans 12:12 says, “Be glad for all God is planning for you.”

BE HONEST AT WORK—-We are to be honest, always, even when it hurts!  God sees everything we do and knows our motives and intentions.  Dishonest scheming is always seen by God as sin.  Colossians 3:24 says, “God has no favorites who can get away with evil.”

BE GENEROUS WITH OUR EARNINGS—-We are to be generous givers, not greedy hoarders.  Ephesians 4:28 explains this, “Begin using your hands for honest work, and then give generously to others in need.”

WORK, DON’T JUST TALK—-Don’t just talk about what you can do, get after it.  “Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty."  Proverbs 14:23

OUR BENEFITS OF GODLY WORK ARE LASTING, ENHANCING, GROWING, AND GOOD—-Proverbs 10:16; Proverbs 11:18; Proverbs 12:14; Proverbs 13:11.

 

"Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.  Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free."  Ephesians 6:5-8​



BLESSED are people of integrity,who follow the law of the LORD.​

BLESSED are those who obey HIS decrees and search for HIM  with all their hearts.
They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in HIS paths.​
