Psalm 25:8-10 says, “The Lord is good, and does what is right; He shows the proper path to those that go astray.     ​

He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them His way.  The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.”    

​

Here is a list of what these verses tell us about God.   

​

    The Lord is good.
   

The Lord does what is right.
   

The Lord shows the proper path to those who go astray.
   

The Lord leads the humble.
   

The Lord teaches the humble.
   

The Lord leads with unfailing love those who obey.
   

The Lord leads with faithfulness those who obey.

HUMILITY

 

It is great news for all of us that when we get messed up and get off the right path, God Almighty will show us the proper path.

​

God wants to show us the proper path, but who is it that God can lead and teach?  It is the humble.

​

Let's look at the verse from another direction- If we are filled with pride we can go on and on the wrong path and not even know it;  but when we are humble, God will teach and lead us back to the proper path for our life.  HUMILITY IS HUGE!

 

 

OBEDIENCE

OBEDIENCE...Wow, just look at these benefit for those who obey God.  God leads those who obey Him with unfailing love and faithfulness.  Now that is cool.

​

TRAINING HORSES

 

Now it doesn't tell us, but how might God lead those who don't obey?

​

Let's look at training a willing horse and a knot-head.  That horse that has a heart and tries to please you-it's easy to pet him on the head and give him an extra flake of hay.

​

But that knot-head that pulls back, throws a fit, and tries to buck you off - that horse might not get that loving pat on the head.  He may stay saddled for a few days.  He may get run around the pen until he is wet with sweat.  Not because you want to abuse him, you want him to learn something.

​

Now Jesus is always good and does what is right - but His training techniques might be a bit tougher on those who choose to act like a knot-head and ignore this thing called OBEDIENCE.
