God Punishes The Wicked

#21--Steps to Peace

For many of us who have suffered at the hands of wicked people, we wonder if their actions will ever have consequences.

There are so many verses in the Bible that tell us that God will repay the wicked.  Here are just a few:

    All sin has consequences.
For those who repent, there is always forgiveness and God will restore.
But for those who refuse to turn to our loving God, there will be severe consequences.
The wicked will not get away with their evil deeds.

How about this one found in Psalm 79:12, “O Lord, pay back our neighbors seven times for the scorn they have hurled at you.  Then we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will thank You forever and ever. praising Your greatness from generation to generation.”

Or this one; Psalm 76:9-10 “ You stand up to judge those who do evil, O God, and to rescue the oppressed of the earth.  Human defiance only enhances your glory, for you use it as a weapon.”

Or this one; Psalm 75:7-10, “It is God alone who judges; He decides who will rise and who will fall. For the Lord holds a cup in his hand that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices.  He pours out the wine in judgment and all the wicked must drink it, draining it to the dregs.  But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.  For God says, "I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly."

God is just.  We can believe Him.

With God’s love,  Judy
