Psalms & Proverbs

"Parents can provide their sons with an inheritance
of houses and wealth,
but only the Lord can give an understanding wife."

Proverbs 19:14

  • A gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl meets a strong, good-looking, independent cowboy.  When strong, good-looking, independent cowboy meets the gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl his eyes light up.  Gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl thinks strong, good-looking, independent cowboy is Mr. Perfect.  He brings her flowers and they talk.

  • Strong, good-looking, independent cowboy wants to be with gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl more than he wants to go to a rodeo.  When they talk, she is interested in everything about him.

  • Gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl loves the time the strong, good-looking, doesn’t seem so independent cowboy spends with her.  When they talk she encourages him to go for his dreams.  She believes he can do anything.

  • Gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl thinks it is so cool to see her strong, good-looking, doesn’t seem so independent, cowboy compete at the rodeos.  Gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl knows this strong, good-looking, doesn’t seem so independent, cowboy is her one and only.  He is the one for her, forever and ever—he is wonderful.

  • Gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl starts imagining her life forever with her strong, good-looking, doesn’t seem so independent cowboy.

  • Gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl and strong, good-looking, doesn’t seem so independent cowboy fall in love and get married.

WHAT HAPPENED?

  • Gorgeous, full of life, full of fun wife realizes her strong, good-looking, seems more independent than she thought, husband isn’t perfect. When they talk they aren’t as interested in each other.

  • Gorgeous, full of life, full of fun wife gets tired of going to rodeos.  Strong, good-looking, independent husband is more focused on making the NFR, and making a living than on his gorgeous wife.  They talk less.  Husband is tired, wife is confused.  This isn’t the life she imagined.

  • Gorgeous, 1/2 full of life, 1/2 full of fun wife gets really tired of the stress of rodeo; she worries too.  Gorgeous, 1/2 full of life, 1/2 full of fun wife sees more faults in her strong, not so good-looking, independent, husband and starts telling him about them.  They talk more about what is wrong than what is right.

  • 1/2 gorgeous, 1/2 full of life, no fun wife becomes what she never thought she could be. She doesn’t realize that her beauty has faded because she frowns a lot.  Life isn’t fun for her anymore and she no longer adds sunshine and fun to her marriage.

  • To the strong, good-looking, independent cowboy his gorgeous, full of life, full of fun wife has become his unattractive, dead, and dull wife.  He is tempted to go where women seem gorgeous, full of life, and full of fun.

  • To the wife, her strong, good-looking, independent cowboy has become her insensitive, unconcerned, and utterly unchangeable husband.  She is more determined in changing her insensitive, unconcerned, and utterly unchangeable husband into the strong, good-looking, independent husband she thinks he should be.

  • Husband spends much time away from home, not realizing why.  In desperate anger the wife gives her husband an ultimatum.

THE RIGHT SOLUTION!

  • Husband gets his eyes off the unattractive, dead, and dull characteristics of his wife and suddenly sees that  maybe he is insensitive, unconcerned, and utterly unchangeable at times with his wife.  Husband goes to God for help.

  • Wife gets her eyes off her insensitive, unconcerned, and utterly unchangeable husband and sees that she has become unattractive, dead, and dull.  Wife goes to God for help.

  •  While alone with God, wife realizes that her becoming unattractive, dead, and dull is because of sin.  She is unattractive because she frowns more than smiles.  She is dead because of her sins of pride, greed, sloth, envy, and anger.  She is dull because the light of Christ no longer shines through her.  A critical spirit now consumes the woman, always seeing what is wrong.  Without realizing it, the wife became the critical, nagging woman she never thought she could be.  She has become what her father warned her about—a darned if you do, darned if you don’t wife.  She is critical of her husband—critical because he doesn’t do enough, and then when he does do something he didn’t do it right.  And not just once in a while, but a lot of the while she is discontent with what her husband does and does not do.  She has become what no husband wants —a wife that always finds something wrong with everything he says or doesn’t say; does or doesn’t do.

  • God commands her to focus on changing herself and let the Holy Spirit change her husband. Worry and anxiety are sin—a lack of trust in God.  God commands her to love and enjoy Him and to enjoy the life He has given her.  God commands her to love, respect, and enjoy her husband.

  •  Husband gets alone with God.  God shows the husband what he is doing wrong.  (This isn’t printed to tell men what to do, that is God’s job.  We want to encourage women to do what honors God.)

  •  Wife repents with all of her heart, and determines to once again become the gorgeous, full of life, full of fun wife and totally love, respect, and enjoy her strong, good-looking, independent husband.

  •   Gorgeous full of life, full of fun wife knows this strong, good-looking, independent husband is her one and only.  He is the one for her, forever and ever. She starts enjoying and appreciating the man God gave her.  She talks to him more about what is right than what is wrong.

THE PERFECT MARRIAGE!

  • The strong, good-looking, independent husband once again sees his wife as the gorgeous, full of life, full of fun girl he fell in love with.  They talk and he brings her flowers.

  • The strong, good-looking, independent husband wants to be with his gorgeous, full of life, full of fun wife.  They enjoy the time they are together more than the time they are apart.

  • The strong, good-looking, independent husband and the gorgeous, full of life, full of fun wife live happily ever after.
